Found: Artists Explore the Environment

“Re-Claimed Forest” explores the cycles of time, memory and nature in an interactive installation. Ponderosa Pine Timbers were discovered and bartered for during a junk yard excursions on the west side of Phoenix.
Small ceramic elements, found materials and organic materials were incorporated into the installation to add a sense of mystery and wonder to one’s wandering while exploring the forest. Sanding and refining became a labor of love while being sensitive to the pre-existing surface conditions that provide a glimpse into the past life of this beautiful material.
